Since being introduced to the guitar at 12 by her father, Jolyn has not stopped writing and playing songs of life, love, and her growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Learning to sing was a desire at birth and has only recently been given an opportunity to develop with the persuasion of her dad, Joe Glenn Smith and with the support of her wonderful teacher, Lester Williams.

Due to hearing loss from childhood, singing was hardly an option in Jolyn's mind and she settled on writing music for "others" to perform until NOW! After 6 years of playing with Jane in small settings such as weekend church retreats, family birthdays and holidays, Jolyn said "yes" to an opportunity to sing in public for the first time at 306 North in Valdosta, GA.

With such a strong passion for good "old" music it was only right for Two J's to be formed. Although stage fright and lack of experience delayed Jolyn's dreams of entertaining, it wasn't too late to join Jane in stepping out with a courageous bang in December of 2011. Jolyn is forever grateful for all the support of friends and family and especially for Jane consistently sticking her neck out for a dream to be born.

Jane was born with music running through her veins and still finds it to be a vital part of her life. The enthusiasm she feels in the music is a contagious energy you feel as you listen to the duo.

Before graduating high school, Jane performed on an early T.V. News Show; later she went on to appear on several occasions with a couple of recording artist from neighboring counties on a cruise ship out of Panama City, FL. She was a drummer for Urban Country Band 2 years and later played acoustic guitar and was the female vocalist of The James Gang for 3 years.

After a fourteen year hiatus, Jane is back playing acoustic guitar and singing some of her favorite titles from the 60’s, 70’s, R&B, Classic Rock and Country. Jane loves to bring all of the old harmonies back in her voice but every now and then she may step in to lead the duo in a song or two.
